Dominique de Jager
Veterinary Physiotherapist
I am a qualified human physiotherapist, graduated at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, BphysT (Hons) in 2022, and currently hold postgraduate diploma level in Veterinary Physiotherapy whilst finishing my final year of my MSc at Hartpury University, United Kingdom.
My heart for rehabilitation and movement started when I was 15 years old after having the privilege of rehabilitating my own horse and completely fell in love with the occupation. After recognizing my influence as a rider, to my horse’s way of adapting under saddle, I soon realized that this was my academic pursuit and what sets my soul on fire. I have been working as a human physiotherapist in all fields of the practice for 4 years, gaining experience and developing an inquisitive and critical mind for movement patterns and how to improve them. Sports physiotherapy is my ultimate challenge, in the human domain, with top performing and amateur athletes that make me question the why and how and how quickly we can return the athlete to performance or activity. I thrive under pressure and believe that the end of my comfort zone is where my life begins.
My true passion lies in horse and rider combinations, and now specializing in the field of veterinary physiotherapy, it holds the key to knowledge I am yet to discover. I started my Master’s degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy at Hartpury in September 2024 with an expectation of learning the global perspective, which opened my doors to a monumental opportunity – Physio Evolution.
I look forward to learning even more, growing as a person and becoming the physio I’ve always wanted to be!
