Animal Physiotherapy is an allied health profession, recognized here in the UAE by the Dubai Municipality Veterinary Services. The profession is carried out by qualified human physiotherapists who have passed a further two-year postgraduate degree in Animal Physiotherapy.

In the UK where I qualified this profession is recognised by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapist  (CSP) and The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) which is an independent, UK-wide regulatory body responsible for setting and maintaining standards of professional training, performance and conduct of health care professionals. I am also a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy (ACPAT). ACPAT is Professional Network Group of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and represents the interests of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy.

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is the use of physical techniques in the treatment of soft tissue injuries, movement dysfunctions and post orthopaedic surgery.

It can be used to improve performance and prevent injuries in working or sporting athletes.
